Chorley based Search Marketing company DigiEnable last night brought together a number of Lancashire and Manchester based businesses to raise money for Dementia Support. The event, which celebrated DigiEnable’s 5th year in business, featured a keynote talk from The Times and Spectator Cartoonist Tony Husband, famous for his regular Private Eye cartoon strip “Yobs” and 80’s children’s TV show “Round the Bend”.

Tony spoke emotionally about his book “Take Care, Son” which charts his father’s battle with Dementia, using illustrations to tell the story of how the illness effects the individual, and the impact on their family and friends.

Darren Jenkinson, Founding Partner of DigiEnable said “We wanted to create an event which allowed us to say thank you to those who have supported us in building our business, but also raise awareness of a very important, and often misunderstood illness”. “All money raised from the event will be going to support a local charity, Genesis Care North West, who provide well-being and respite services for older people”.

Liz Hardwick, Co-Founder of DigiEnable added “Reaching five years is an important milestone for our business, and we wanted to host an evening that people would remember. Having such an amazing speaker, and sharing that experience with other local business owners, made it a night I’ll never forget.”

The event was held in the centre of Chorley at locally-owned Restaurant and Bar, The Emporium. Twenty friends and clients of DigiEnable attended the event which raised £135 for Genesis Care North West. Michael Dunne from Safecell Security won the prize draw for a signed Tony Husband Cartoon.
